Broadbeach Surf Lessons
Broadbeach Surf Schools
Broadbeach Surf Schools are available at southern Broadbeach at Margaret Avenue. It is the turn off the Gold Coast Highway opposite Jupiter’s Casino. It is a quieter beach with its own lifeguard and toilet and change rooms nearby. The beach near Kurrawa Surf Club can be very busy because international tourist buses use that location to drop off their groups to take photos and look around. The beach at Margaret Avenue is a long sandy beach with great waves and views right along the Gold Coast.
Prices start at $59 and include either a long sleeve rashie or wetsuit in winter, a soft beginner board and 2 hours of instruction and fun.
The lesson will begin on the beach with some safety information and basic instruction before heading into the water to catch your first few waves. We run the lessons in waist deep water because we want to keep it safe for everyone. You will then return to the beach for some more detailed instruction on how to stand up. Instructors are also fully qualified surf life savers who make sure everyone is safe and will keep you away from dangerous rips and currents. We use large soft beginner surfboards – “G Boards” – to make it easy for beginners. Consequently we find most people stand up in their first lesson.
The van/trailer will be parked in the car park at the beach end of Margaret Avenue and almost on the beach. As a result it is in walking distance from most of the major hotels in Broadbeach.
If you are new to the area and need help we are happy to provide a free pickup and drop off from either your hotel or local landmark.
